I have been seeing a lot about gratitude lately. Obviously, it’s the week of Thanksgiving so the gratitude posts are rampant. But I also have been hearing more and more from mindset and personal development leaders on why a gratitude practice is so key to their success.
What I’m going to write next probably is going to make me seem like a douche, but oh well:
I DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THAT SHIT.
I tend to be on the positive-outlook bandwagon anyway. Reflecting on three, five, ten things I am thankful for at the end of the day is taking ONE of the things I’m thankful for away, and that’s going to bed by 9pm.
Here’s what I LIKE about a gratitude practice though, and I hope you’ll stay with me beyond my douchebag statement above.
Instead of merely reflecting on gratitude, let’s PROJECT that gratitude. Let’s put it out in the universe by expressing it, by sharing it, by making the practice of EXPRESSING our gratitude what we focus on instead of merely list-taking.
You in? Let’s go.
