The Return, and Why I’ve been Quiet

Soooo a lot has happened since the last episode of the Work Hard, Mom Harder podcast.

On March 7 of 2021, I headed out the door for a quick Sunday morning run. I mean quick. I just wanted to see how fast I could run one mile.About halfway through my run I had a nagging little thought … something was supposed to have arrived, and it Hadn’t.

I cut that 1miler short, came in the front door, promptly went in the bathroom and used the last home pregnancy test from a just-in-case two pack that I’d bought a few months earlier.

Not much more than 2 minutes later, I called Zeb back to the bedroom and informed him that we were going to have another baby.

Just the day before, I had been thinking about the miracle of life. The infinite number of humans possible because of the combination of Zeb and I together. And how sad it was that since we had decided not to have any more kids, those possibilities were no more.

I mean, we had taken measures. Ask me about my husband’s two vasectomies (perhaps fodder for a future episode). But the fact that this little fighter swam through a twice-severed vas to have a shot at existence told me that he or she was not just a possibility but an inevitability, a person destined to be something special and guaranteed to change not only our lives, but the world.

All of a sudden, my big plans for 2021 had to change. Because I was now going to attempt to squeeze 12 months of work into 10, so that I could have a baby on November 1st and not totally short-stick my clients and students.

Something had to get shoved off my already full plate to make room for all that extra work, and that something ended up being this podcast.

I REALLY MISSED YOU GUYS though. And come on! What better content for a Work Hard Mom Harder podcast than a surprise pregnancy, setting myself up for another maternity leave with a much more complex business to run, doing all that work while also being 38 and pregnant! But alas.

I promise to catch you up.

On November 1st, 2021, at 1:21 pm, Archer Marian Walter completed our family. She’s a perfect addition to our full house, fat and friendly.  She’s now 3 months old, sleeps 11 hours a night, and sits patiently on my lap while I attempt to one-handed type social media and email marketing content for a few hours every day.

Having been through “THIS IS THE LAST ONE” before, I want to do a better job of soaking all the new baby everything in this time around. However, I have a much bigger empire to run these days. More clients. More students. More projects that I want to bring into reality. More game-changing that needs to be done. I get to do it all with Archer along for the ride, and I want you along for the ride, too.

Because even though I’ve got a second grader, two preschoolers, and an infant, I still want to help small businesses make more money through email marketing programs.

Tune In every week for actionable digital marketing lessons you can apply in your small business, your side hustle, or your day job. But also, come along on the journey as I build an empire with a baby on my hip, find joy and presence in every milestone (both for my business and with my baby), and attempt to keep all the plates spinning without losing my ever-loving mind.

Let’s begin.
