Erica Riffs: Hudson’s Month Update

My sweet daughter keeps teaching lessons even eight years after she passed away…

In today’s riff, I share the update on our fundraising initiative – we ultimately ended up raising $76 over our goal of $5000 for the Forget-Me-Not Foundation (YASSSSS).

I also talk a bit about the lessons I learned from this first foray into fundraising… because let’s be honest, if I’m going to run a nonprofit that helps serve families going through the loss of a child, I’m probably going to need to get better and better at this.

I close by talking about legacy. Do you have a vision for the legacy you want to leave behind? And if so, have you written it down? I have one written down from 12 years ago, and I’ll be honest, I like it. It resonates today even though I wrote it before I was married, before I had kids, before my life was anything like what it is now.

Think about your legacy this week. And if you participated in any way in the Hudson’s Month fundraising initiative, I want you to know that I’m eternally and endlessly and incapable-of-using-words-to-say-how-much thankful for your support. You are a beam of light in a dark world.

Thank you for being Hudson’s Hero.
