With a big birthday looming, I decided to make a list of 37 things I want to do before I turn 38. The list has a good mix of things I’ve never done before (make ravioli from scratch), things I’ve done before and always enjoy (writing just for fun), and things I don’t do often enough and should (give money to somebody asking, pray before bedtime).
The process of creating this list is almost as valuable as the experiences I’m having as I knock each item off in the short weeks before my next big birthday.
Some lessons:
- Know your defaults
- Have clarity on your intention
- If it isn’t scheduled, it isn’t real (shoutout to my girl Marie Forleo for this one)
- If it doesn’t happen, it wasn’t important
Listen to get more details on each of these lessons. The challenge I extend to you is this: make a bucket list of your own, either for a season, or before your next birthday, or before the end of the year. The process is fun, it shows you where your default mode might lead your life if you don’t intentionally design in other things, and it helps you find clarity on what a rich and meaningful life really looks like FOR YOU.
Tell me in the comments – what lesson sunk in most for you?
