The stomach flu hit the Walter household hard this weekend. It canceled my plans for a batch-recording session for this podcast and broke my 6-month streak of daily exercise.
Today on the podcast, I’m introducing a new “series” to the mix: Erica Riffs. Born of necessity and forged in the fires of a 24-hour, household-wide illness, this episode is unscripted and unedited.
I’m talking about the power of getting on a positive streak, issuing a challenge to START ONE OF YOUR OWN. I’m also talking about what to do when you break a streak, specifically, don’t kick your own ass over it. Finally, we’ll take a little side-trip into the auxiliary benefit of committing to a streak: The creativity and problem solving that you’ll discover you’re capable of when you go all-in on something.
In order to keep my weekly podcast streak alive, I invented “Erica Riffs” – which proved my ability to create, “edit”, and publish an episode in under an hour to keep the streak alive. It also proved my ability to speak, fairly coherently, on a topic for 15 minutes. My goal is to serve you bite-sized inspiration and topical, timely storytelling to help you live your best life… whatever that looks like for you.
So, what’s a streak you can commit to today? Tell me in the comments below!
