July is for Hudson. Running in the summer is for Hudson. And every year, we celebrate Hudson throughout the month of July in a variety of ways.
We spend time together as a family on her birthday, and eat a cake with a theme designated by the kiddos.
We visit the Hudson stone at the Veterans Memorial Golf Course here in town, that Zeb’s work generously put in place the year she died.
And to spread beams of light in a dark world, we raise money for the Forget Me Not Foundation at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, WA.
Here’s how you can get involved:
- I’m donating a percentage of company revenue from my business, Email Mavens, to the Forget-Me-Not-Foundation. If you are an existing or prospective client, you’re already making a contribution!
- You can buy my book. All proceeds go to the Forget-Me-Not-Foundation.
- You can donate directly.

Then, fill in donation information.
Under “I would like to support,” chose Children’s Area of greatest need and under additional info, in the comments, type in Forget-Me-Not program.
Then under “Tribute Information”, you can specify “in memory of Hudson Walter” if you wish. - Run with me! Every weekend in July, I’m running a 5K for Hudson (spread out across the three days, because I’m 6 months pregnant and running 3.12 miles right now is a stretch). The $50 I would have spent in gas money, registration fees, and time are going straight to the foundation. That’s $200, right there.
